Gossip & Lore

Acapella Ditty  Madam Wong's West (live bootleg 1978?)

From Selena:

Boingo would start shows with it when they were Mystic Knights. Also recorded somewhen in a studio.

I know of two versions, one is a minty studio version (prolly what you downloaded), buit the other was played on a 1978 MK Bootleg, so I'd date it around thattime I guess

From Harvey J. Satan:

there was also a weird warm-up Acapella/Yodel thing that Danny performed on the radio in San Francisco, around 1991. (The Alex Bennett Show) He claimed it was a band vocal warm up,and it went: "Eat A Little Old Lady Oooh!" By repeating this, you too could become an expert yodeller, just like the members of Boingo!

from Michael Adashefski:

"Monkey Doodle Do was written by none other than Irving Berlin. The song appears as an elaborate song & dance number in the Marx Brothers first feature film The Coconuts from 1929. It doesn't surprise me that the MKOTOB did it as it's campy and has that great nostalgic feel to it. Check out the film for further info and to see a very funny early comedy."

Minnie the Moocher 1.) Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo (1978)

2.) Appears, with altered lyrics, as "Squeezit the Moocher" in the Forbidden Zone (1979) film and soundtrack.
