Hey it's late and I'm going to crash soon, but I thought I would tell you guys what cool thing happened today.

While working at VOA today, I heard that some guy from the Beastie Boys was coming by one of the audio studios to do an interview about Tibet and the Free Tibet Concerts. Soooooo Suteera and I thought we'd check it out. Well, a hour later, MCA from the B-Boys, you know who I'm talking about?... did show up. He was really cool. He was very humble, almost like a monk, and in fact was accompanied by two Tibetan monks and a handful of Tibetan refugees. They did the interview, then got a short tour of the East Asian services. It seemed that I was the only one who knew this guy was like...famous.

Anyway I was just chillin', standing next to this guy, while he was politely nodding and grinning about our broadcasts into China and the Tibetan region regarding the lame-ass policies of China in Tibet. He was stoked about it. Then he came by us, said hello and shook our hands. We chatted for a minute. Suteera, grins and all, asked him for his autograph. He said "sure, that's cool". The monks were amused by this. MCA then turned right toward us and asked us if we were doing the Tibetan broadcasts as well, and we said "well, we are researchers who basically support them by giving them needed data and info".

He smiled again and said "cool". The monks were amused by this too. Then he said "Well, I've gotta go, you know?" and he started off. As the monks passed us, we (of course) "wai-ed" them and I think all were pleasantly surprised, especially old MCA.

Suteera turned to me after it was all over and said "so who was that guy anyway? Is he famous?" I told her I'd explain when we get home. When we returned home I put on Check Your Head's track "So What'cha Want" and she began to laugh aloud. "Wow, you mean he's one of these guys!? Cool!!" I was amused by this.

Anyway, that was our little brush with fame today. Hey, VOA ain't all bad...hell, we do give China shit about Tibet...and that is very cool.

Take care guys. Hope you liked my little rendition about this funny (and cool) day.
